Shaykh Ismail Al-Qadi was born and raised in Jordan in a family deeply committed to the Qur’an. His mother and siblings were Huffāẓ (memorizers). He memorized the Qur’an at his local mosque in his youth, then went on to study the articulation points (makhārij), tajwīd and different maqāmāt (melodic modes) under established scholars. He holds certified Ijāzah and Sanad in multiple canonical Qirā’āt (readings of the Qur’an) and graduated top of his class with a Bachelor’s in Islamic Sciences & Jurisprudence from Applied Science University in Amman. He also earned an Associate’s degree in Islamic Studies from Islamic American University in Michigan. After starting his teaching career in Jordan circa 2002, he relocated to the United States around 2007 where he served as Qur’an instructor, led tarāwīḥ prayers, and became Imam/teacher at the Islamic Center of Naperville (ICN) in Illinois. Among his numerous contributions, he has guided 40+ students to full memorization of the Qur’an with correct makhārij and tajwīd.
